About me
Ellen Chase has been Objects Conservator in the Department of Conservation and Scientific Research at the Freer|Sackler, the Smithsonian Institution’s Museums of Asian Art since 1999. Prior to that she was a contractor or fellow at a number of museums including the Metropolitan Museum of Art, the Virginia Museum of Fine Arts and the British Museum. Ellen is a graduate of the Conservation Center of the Institute of Fine Arts, New York University, where she received her master’s degree in 1993. She is a member of the K–12 Outreach Working Group of the American Institute for Conservation.
