About me
Shimaa Mahmoud earned a Bachelor's degree in Archaeology from the Faculty of Archaeology, Conservation Department, Cairo University in 2013. In 2021, she obtained a Master's degree in Archaeological Restoration from the same faculty with an excellent grade and a recommendation to print and circulate her scientific thesis among universities. In 2023, she completed her Pre-PhD studies in the Restoration Department at Cairo University, achieving an excellent grade with honors at 98.4%.
She has worked as a restoration specialist on several significant projects. At the Military Museum in Muhammad Ali Castle, she contributed to the Najaf Restoration Project, focusing on the cleaning and isolation of copper and iron Najaf. She also worked on the restoration of the Post Office building in Attaba, specializing in the cleaning and completion of decorative wood strips and the consolidation and removal of archaeological cartonnage.
As a restoration specialist at Mohamed Ali Palace with Al-Abrahamia Company, she was involved in restoring the wooden ceiling, including isolation, consolidation, and cleaning. She also worked at Princess Malak Palace and participated in the final stage of the restoration project at Mohamed Ali Palace, owned by Al-Rowad Engineering Company. Her contributions included the restoration of oil paintings alongside Dr. Hager Ezzat, focusing on cleaning, isolation, and consolidation. Additionally, she worked in the technical office of Al-Rowad Company as a photographer and was responsible for preparing presentations for the restoration project of Sultana Malak.
Beyond her restoration work, she is also a freelance translator, translating from English to Arabic for Arabic Studio for Certified International Translation.
