Amy Jones Abbe is a sculpture and objects conservator based in Athens, Georgia, and provides conservation services to institutions and collectors throughout the Southeast. She conserves artworks in a wide range materials in addition to providing collections assessments, collections care consulting and technical studies. Prior to her move to Athens in 2011, Amy was an Associate Objects Conservator at the Metropolitan Museum of Art, and she worked previously at other art and cultural institutions in NYC, including the Guggenheim Museum, the American Museum of Natural History, and for a prominent private conservation studio. She completed advanced internships at the Walters Art Museum and Harvard Art Museums and has been a site conservator on multiple excavations in Turkey. She trained in conservation and studied art history at the Conservation Center of the Institute of Fine Arts at New York University, after studying classical archaeology and chemistry at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. Amy is a Professional Associate of the American Institute for Conservation.
