Dr. Harby E. Ahmed is Associate Professor of Historical Textile Conservation at the Archeology Conservation Department, Faculty of Archeology – Cairo University, Egypt. Now, he is a visiting professor at the Faculty of Art and Regional Design, Saga University, Japan. He did different post-doctoral research in Europe and the USA. Harby E. Ahmed completed his Ph.D. at the School of Chemical Engineering, National Technical University of Athens, Greece. Furthermore, he is a H.D. Certified Trainer (Faculty and Leadership Development Center). He has published more than 54 articles in international journals. In addition, he is the author of nine books on historical textile conservation published in the USA, Germany, the UK, and Egypt. He presents and speaks at more than 34 international conferences. Harby E. Ahmed is the supervisor of more than 21 master's and Ph.D. theses. He has an h-index of 15 and 523 citations, according to Google Scholar citations. He is an editor, board member, and reviewer for many international journals. Harby E. Ahmed conserves a high number of historical textiles and carpets in different international museums and excavations. He teaches archeology restoration to students at many Egyptian universities.
