About me
Doaa Mohamed Hassan Khamis is a specialist in the conservation and restoration of antiquities, with extensive experience in preserving and restoring Egypt’s cultural heritage. She has worked on prominent archaeological sites and world-class museums, focusing on the treatment and conservation of historically significant artifacts and royal statues.
She earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Restoration and Conservation of Antiquities from the Faculty of Archaeology, Cairo University, in 2009. She completed the Preliminary Year of Graduate Studies (Master’s) in 2020 and is currently a Master’s researcher specializing in antiquities treatment and conservation. She also holds an International Computer Driving License (ICDL) certification.
At the Grand Egyptian Museum – Center for Conservation and Restoration of Antiquities (2016 - Present), she has participated in several restoration and conservation projects for historically significant artifacts. She has contributed to the treatment and conservation of royal statues and worked on the preservation of artifacts displayed on the Grand Staircase, including the sarcophagus of King Ramses II and the statue of Queen Hatshepsut. She has also been involved in the restoration and conservation of various other artifacts.
Previously, at the Ministry of Tourism and Antiquities – Pyramid Antiquities Treatment Department (2012 - 2016), she participated in the restoration and conservation of antiquities in the Pyramids area. She worked on the treatment and conservation of the workers' tombs discovered in the area of the Pyramids builders' graves, as part of Dr. Zahi Hawass’ excavations.
She has extensive practical experience in the treatment and conservation of a wide range of artifacts and the ability to work on large and historically significant projects. She possesses strong documentation and research skills in the field of conservation, is proficient in English, and has advanced computer skills with ICDL certification.
